bracedlets are fun, durable bracelets, crafted entirely out of orthodontic materials. these colorful, stretchy chains, accented with metal brackets and contrasting elastic rubber bands are meant to be stacked and layered. bracedlets were created by new york orthodontists, marc lemchen and jennifer salzer with the creative help of jennifer’s sister and lulu frost designer, lisa salzer. i wore lulu frost for my wedding, and now that i have a 7 month year old, this may be a more appropriate accessory.

i am noticing the color orange this summer – from clothing to nails to the sun itself. my husband, who has an internal trend detector, bought me a lovely orange dress from steven alan for my birthday. when i’m not feeling as bold, i love an orange accent, like hourglass’ beautiful red-orange lipstick in muse or essie’s clambake polish. from tangerine to blood orange, this hue will be sure to brighten your mood.

i love these beautiful agate necklaces from brook & lyn. their “surrounded” collection reflects each stone’s central ring surrounded by concentric rings of varying colors and shapes followed by a hand crocheted border and entirely surrounded in rope. here are some gorgeous images from their look book.

there are some gals who can throw on a little flowered dress or fedora and look sharp as a tack. sure, alexa chung and diane kruger have access to stylists and hairdressers that the rest of us lack, but i don’t think that’s their secret. they possess that “thing” that money can’t buy – an effortless sense of style. i find it really inspiring…with lil’ a dash of “why can’t i look that good in a fedora?”
